Ashley Black and the FasciaBlaster
The Classic Necessity Breeds Invention Story
Many people know Ashley Black due to her inventing the FasciaBlaster. However, life has not always been so grand for her.
She was born in Alabama in 1973. As a child, Ashley Black was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. This disease caused her to have excruciating pain throughout her body.
She spent many of her younger years going to see various doctors. They told her that she more than likely would be in a wheelchair before the age of twenty-five. She did not want that to become her fate. So, she changed it.
Ashley Black developed her own system for dealing with all of the pain. Things that helped her were hot and cold baths, self-massaging, stretching, strength-training, and food charting.
In her teens, she started eliminating certain medications from the repertoire her doctor’s prescribed because she had faith that there was something better available for her.
As Ashley got older and moved into her high school years, she fell in love with sports and became an athlete. In college, she did tumbling, dancing, and cheering. At the very same time, Ashley was also teaching up to twenty fitness classes a week.
That’s quite a bit of activity for a person who was supposed to be in a wheelchair before the age of 25.
After the birth of her second child, Ashley Black started to feel the pangs of the disease that plagued her as a child.
Upon a very routine and everyday visit to the hospital for a simple blood transfusion, Ashley Black contracted a deadly bone infection. Not just any fatal bone infection, but one that around ninety-three percent of people do not survive.
Told that she would have to take pain medications every single day for the rest of her life, Ashley Black was released from the hospital after surviving a nearly-impossible procedure to cure her infection.
What does an average person do after surviving their second life-altering disease and medical treatment? Slow down? Take it easy? NOT push themselves for fear of something else happening? Everyone except Ashley Black.
Instead, Ashley Black let her brush with death and debilitating disease motivate her. She decided to begin to travel the world doing hours and hours and months and months of research to start to repair herself without the help of the mainstream medical world, or any of the doctors or the medications that many of us believe are the only avenue to survival.
Through her travels and her research, Ashley Black discovered the structural limitations of her body were what was causing debilitating pain. It was restrictions in the fascia, or the second skin that lived below her epidermis, but above her muscle. Ashley learned that the fascia surrounds everything within the body.
Ashley returned from her research studies with bountiful amounts of knowledge, a series of fasciology clinics to help others with similar issues as she had, and a need to help these people feel better in their days as she had been able to do for herself.
Many of her clients were famous athletes and actors who wanted freedom from pain and injury that had plagued them for years. Historically, athletes and celebrities can be very busy people, and Ashley did not get to see them and treat them as often as she needed.
She discovered that she needed something that they could use, that they could do themselves that would continue to service and help them in her absence. It quickly became essential for her to create something that would help them when she could not be there.
To make a very, very, very interesting and detailed, but long story, short, this is what caused Ashley Black to discover, invent, build, manufacture, and sell this little tool that changed her world, the FasciaBlaster.
Other techniques are said to work the fascia in your body like skin rolling or deep fascial stretching, but these techniques are quickly tiring and rough on the practitioner. Nothing on the market is as easy to use or yields such positive and consistent results for consumers who take the time to use it correctly as Ashley Black’s FasciaBlaster.
